The store will offer limited-release coffee blends—meaning only the rarest and finest coffee beans sourced from exotic locations will make it to your coffee cup, making the Starbucks Reserve® experience truly unique.

For the launch of STARBUCKS RESERVE® coffee, Starbucks is introducing the patented Clover® brewing system, available only in the Signa store. This method uses a trademarked ‘Vacuum Press™’ technology that allows digitally orchestrated production of the finest cup of coffee you’ll ever taste: a stainless steel filter is lowered to the brew chamber where water is added at a precise time and then brewed for an ideal length of time. The temperature is kept within 1 degree Fahrenheit of the optimal temperature, after which coffee is pulled through a 70-micron filter; hence, a wonderfully complex, made-to-order coffee flows, one cup at a time.

Makati is the heart of business and commerce in the country, and it is also the epicenter of the distinctive lifestyle trends today, among which is the movement toward boutique restaurants and fine cuisine.

Soon, food connoisseurs will have more reason to lounge around the quaint neighborhoods and districts in Makati with the opening of three new upscale restaurants from some of the most innovative, young entrepreneurs in the country.

These establishments were especially handpicked by Robinsons Land Corporation in partnership with Security Land Corporation for the Signa Designer Residences, one of the luxury high-rise condominiums in Salcedo Village.

“Signa Designer Residences is the realization of living the high life,” explained Robinsons Luxuria vice president for business development Trina Cipriano.  “These new restaurants echo the spirit and vibe of Signa Designer Residences, and will be the highlight of the residential building’s mixed-use ground floor retail strip.”

HEALTHY ‘SPROUT’

Erwan Heussaff, Stephen Ku, JP Hernandez, Joel Poniente and Raymond Magdaluyo are the movers behind Mothership F and B Enterprise — the company that will run Sprout, Sabao and Bait’s. The same group is also responsible for the success of popular dining destinations Pink Panda, Hungry Hound and Niner Ichi Nana.

Sprout will ride on the global health-consciousness wave that has swept the country.

“The idea is to take restaurant food and offer it in the convenient casual format,” said Heussaff.

Another novel concept is Sabao, a non-traditional sit-down restaurant that will serve Filipino soups taken to a new level.

The idea for Sabao was derivative of the current ramen bar boom. Hernandez mentions that this edgy take on soup will likely attract Asian expats and visitors from Singapore or Hong Kong.

Bait’s, meanwhile, was borne out of a need to have a restaurant that specializes in seafood — such as Lobster Houses of New England, Clam Bakes of Seattle and Crab Shacks abroad.

The group envisions Bait’s to resemble the traditional New England-meets-hip-San Francisco atmosphere.

A portion of the main dining area will be partitioned off at night to become Lazyjack’s at Bait’s — a specialty bar where craft beers and cocktails will be served to the after-office crowd.
