Future residents of Signa Designer Residences in Makati have
a special reason to really perk up. The luxury condominium is set to welcome
its own STARBUCKS RESERVE® store with the opening of the concept store’s fifth
outlet in the Philippines in September 2014, ahead of the scheduled turnover of
Tower 1 by first quarter 2015.
Only a few Starbucks Reserve® stores have opened around the
world, including, among other countries, the United States, Canada, the United
Kingdom, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, and most recently, the Philippines.
Starbucks is very excited to introduce the Starbucks Reserve® concept to
Filipino coffee lovers and welcome guests of Signa Designer Residences to enjoy
this new coffee experience at their doorstep.
The store will offer limited-release coffee blends—meaning
only the rarest and finest coffee beans sourced from exotic locations will make
it to your coffee cup, making the Starbucks Reserve® experience truly unique.
For the launch of STARBUCKS RESERVE® coffee, Starbucks is
introducing the patented Clover® brewing system, available only in the Signa
store. This method uses a trademarked ‘Vacuum Press™’ technology that allows
digitally orchestrated production of the finest cup of coffee you’ll ever
taste: a stainless steel filter is lowered to the brew chamber where water is
added at a precise time and then brewed for an ideal length of time. The
temperature is kept within 1 degree Fahrenheit of the optimal temperature,
after which coffee is pulled through a 70-micron filter; hence, a wonderfully
complex, made-to-order coffee flows, one cup at a time.
In addition to the exclusive Clover® brewing method, the
Signa store will also feature brewing methods that deliver nuanced flavors,
such as the ‘pour-over’ wherein coffee flows from the slender spout of a
special carafe kettle (available only in Starbucks Reserve® stores) and the
‘French press’ (in use at existing Starbucks® stores).
The Starbucks® Signa store has been carefully and
thoughtfully designed to allow customers to immerse themselves in the coffee
experience. The dramatically high, six-meter ceiling; with full height glazing
proves delightful natural lighting, while a singular wall is used as an amazing
grand backdrop for the bar, creating the perfect visual canvas for the baristas
to celebrate the Starbucks coffee journey.
A wall that showcases coffee beans at various stages of
roasting, the roast spectrum is as much an art piece as an info-visual on the
aromatic and flavor sensations of coffee. In addition, locally-customized
Spanish tiles match perfectly with the warm tones of Philippine mahogany,
creating a warm, welcoming environment.
Here, coffee drinkers can savor moments of connection with
friends with their favorite cup of coffee sourced from the most exotic and most
exquisite coffee-growing regions in the world: the complex flavors of STARBUCKS
RESERVE® Finca Nuevo Mexico nurtured in a wildlife refuge; the intense and
fruity sun-dried blend derived from a Southern village in Ethiopia; the deep,
syrupy body and sweet herbal notes in coffee grown by Batak tribe members in
Sumatra; and coffee extracted from the pea berries of Zambia Terranova Estate
that achieves an orchestra of citrus aroma, apple, and vanilla tones, with a
creamy chocolate mouth-feel.
The Starbucks Reserve® Signa store is just an easy stroll
from Ayala Avenue down Rufino Street, within minutes from the trendiest
establishments in Salcedo Village and the corporate offices in Makati Central
Business District.
With the opening of the STARBUCKS RESERVE® store at Signa
Designer Residences, developer Robinsons Luxuria strengthens its focus on
uncompromising quality: from the condominium amenities designed by
world-renowned creative experts Budji Layug, Royal Pineda, and Kenneth
Cobonpue, to the signature coffee that tastes like a journey to the most exotic
parts of the world.
